15.00 – The Technical Shift 

The transmitting system at Grimeton Radio Station consists of the Alexanderson long wave transmitter and the aerial system with six 127 meters high steel towers. The equipment is maintained in operating condition and is an outstanding example of the development of modern telecommunications. Much can be told about the Alexanderson transmitter and, therefore, is the The Technical Shift a guided tour for visitors who want to immerse into the subject.

16.30 – Transmitter start-up 

The Alexander association is arranging a guided tour of the radio station including a start-up of the old Alexanderson transmitter. Every one receives a set of ear protectors through which a speaker will guide the visitors through the start-up process of the long wave transmitter from the early 1920s. The program ends with a walk to the first of the six antenna towers.
