Café Gnistan

Café Gnistan has its name from the female telegraphist, for who “Gnistan” once was the nickname. It offers a variation of freshly prepared sandwiches, pastries, soft drinks, Fair-trade/Eco-certified coffee and tea.

The tradition of the coffee, summers past it was a well-known sight to see workers in the antenna towers dangling their legs while placing a coffee coup on the closest steel girder for a lunch break. Packed in the toolbox each morning in a long with scrapers and wire brushes, paint brushes and led paint was a sandwich pack. Perhaps was there in the short and the well-earned rest a chance to enjoy the view, for just a mint or to two.

Today Café Gnistan located in our visitor centre offers a perfect way to enjoy a Fika safely down on ground level. Choose from its variation of freshly prepared sandwiches, pastries, soft drinks, fair-trade/eco certified coffee and tea.
