More than a hundred years ago, everything changed. Suddenly, it was possible to communicate lightning-fast with people far, far away. Back then, it happened with gigantic facilities and Morse code. Now, with smartphones and 5G. Then, it often involved declarations of love and death notices. Now, it’s largely about sharing reels and interacting with the whole world. Grimeton Radio Station, Varberg, is the last of these gigantic facilities, which is why the site was designated a World Heritage site in 2004. This is the best place in the world to experience and understand the development of wireless communication! <\/p>\n

Our tours offer a vivid and immersive experience of the Grimeton Radio Station World Heritage Site. During the summer, the guided Day Shift tour runs every day<\/strong>, where you’ll discover the site’s history, people, and technology as a whole. On Thursdays<\/strong>, we offer the Technical Shift tour, which takes you closer to the unique radio technology and shows how the facility operated in practice. On Thursdays<\/strong>, you also have the chance to experience something truly special \u2013 the Transmitter Start-up, when the historic transmitter is brought to life. <\/p>\n
