On Friday, September 27, 2024, Kungsbacka Municipality invited guests to a historic afternoon in front of the property with Kungsbacka’s exciting and global radio history. During the unveiling of a new sign, Camilla Lugnet, CEO of the Grimeton World Heritage, gave a speech to a wonderful crowd of interested guests who joined the event. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The event took place in front of Kungsbacka’s old radio station on Kollav\u00e4gen in the beautiful V\u00e4stra Villastaden. It was an afternoon to celebrate Kungsbacka’s exciting local history as an important cog in the development of wireless communication and transatlantic communication from the 1920s onwards. The station building now houses residences and has hosted various activities since it ceased to function as a radio station. The event is held outdoors, so visitors are encouraged to dress according to the weather and be ready for a walk if desired. A new cultural-historical sign was unveiled. Afterwards, participants could take a quiz walk created in collaboration with Grimeton World Heritage<\/strong>, Kungsbacka Municipality<\/strong>, and Onsala Space Observatory<\/strong> to extend the celebration of the city’s radio history to more days. <\/p>\n
