The event takes place in the Transmitter Hall. Those interested can follow the entire startup process until the Morse code telegram is sent at 4:00 PM in the Transmitter Hall, where Ingela Strandberg herself will also participate and read the newly written poem for UN Day. Radio amateurs worldwide can receive the telegram.

– This feels incredibly significant to me. I have grown up and lived in this place my entire life, with my words and thoughts. Now I was asked to formulate a message of peace, and I am very happy about that. If I can do even a small bit for our world, I absolutely want to. Moreover, I have never before experienced a transmitter startup in the beautiful Transmitter Hall, so it will be very exciting, says Ingela Strandberg.

Those who do not have their own radio antenna can still follow the entire broadcast, as the event will be streamed live on YouTube from the moment the transmitter starts up until the telegram has been sent out to the world via the six mighty antenna towers.

Schedule

3:20 PM CEST (1:20 PM UTC) Live YouTube broadcast starts

3:30 p.m. CEST (1:30 p.m. UTC) Start-up of the Alexanderson alternator.

4:00 p.m. CEST (2:00 p.m. UTC) Broadcast of the message

——-

Visitors are welcome to the Grimeton World Heritage Site.
