Tweed Ride Varberg offers a cycling city walk in style through the city. The theme is royalty and communication. Many obscure references and probable tall tales are promised. So put on your best hat and come!
A tweed ride involves a group of participants cycling together dressed up in fancy and preferably old-fashioned clothes. It’s like a mix between a historical romp and a parade.
For the fourth time, Tweed Ride Varberg will cycle through the city and make historical stops at interesting places. We travel a few kilometers together at a reasonable pace, great fun and classic elegance. And what is elegance, of course, you get to decide for yourself!
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Grimeton Radio Station – when Gustav V arrived – we will focus on historical royalty and forms of communication that have touched Varberg. As usual, there will be more discussion and speculation than long-winded lectures.
The outing can be seen as a stand-alone rolling pre-party to the evening gala at the Society. The invitation “dress for success” works equally well at both events. Dress smartly and bring a classic bike if you have one. It will be a lovely ride in the spring sun together with like-minded people!
