At Grimeton Radio Station, we’ve been doing things ourselves for almost 100 years. We’ve made our own tools, we’ve repaired and taken care of things. And that’s why it’s extra fun to offer you the opportunity to create a luxurious party dress entirely from scratch for the anniversary party Great Grimeton Party.
If you like recycling and want to put your own touch on old clothes, this course is perfect for you. Here you’ll learn to transform old garments into new fantastic 1920s creations. With creativity and inspiration, you’ll be able to create something truly unique.
What you can expect
The course starts with an inspiring planning session where you get to sketch your 1920s outfit and go through what needs to be acquired. During the course, you’ll receive both group sessions and individual guidance according to your own needs and wishes. Need help adjusting patterns or tips on how to transform your old garments? What you need to bring
When it comes to clothes and accessories that you will remake, you will plan for that during the first meeting. If you already have items you think you can use, bring them with you. If you want to bring your own sewing machine, feel free to do so, but there are also sewing machines available on site. Suitable thread and your own scissors can also be good to bring.
About the instructor
The course is led by the experienced tailor Karin Lundkvist. She is trained at the Tillskärarakademin with pattern construction as her main subject. Karin has run her own business, Skrädderi Karin Lundkvist, since 1993 and has a passion for both sewing and creative creation.
