Welcome to Matsalen, the dining room, in swedish. From Tuesday to Friday, you can buy snacks and well-prepared meal boxes in the shop – to take away or enjoy in the dining room. On Saturdays, the kitchen opens for our Station worker buffet, with flavors inspired by both local and global cuisine. Until Christmas, you can enjoy our Alternative Christmas Buffet. Of course, you are also welcome if you have a sweet tooth and just want to enjoy a snack in an exciting place.
At Matsalen, we strive to always make conscious choices – for the climate, taste, and the future. Feel free to ask us about our approach.

An Alternative Christmas Buffet
Welcome to a Christmas buffet that stands out!
Is it really true that Santa is retiring and has made broth from the reindeer after a long and faithful service? Or is it just our chef trying to be a little funny? One thing is certain, after the Sandwich-SM he is quite tired of making open sandwiches, so now he lets the guests build their own in our open sandwich workshop.
Our Christmas buffet is something you have never experienced before, but we promise, the hearty feeling will arise as both cold and hot dishes as well as something sweet are served. In addition, you can top it all off with an optional extra accessory, a portion of knowledge in the form of the guided tour “The Day Shift.”
The flavors are carefully selected, sustainability is in focus – and community is a given.

The following Wednesdays and Thursdays are available for the Alternative Christmas Buffet: November 26-27, December 3-4 and December 10-11 2026. Served from 12:00-3:00 PM. Please specify your desired arrival time in the booking email.
Alternative Christmas Buffet 495 SEK. Christmas buffet with guided tour of the World Heritage Site 650 SEK. Christmas buffet with tour starts at 11:00 AM.
The price includes non-alcoholic beverages; if you want a more exciting drink, a non-alcoholic beverage package can be purchased. Other weekdays can also be booked for groups of at least 20 people.
All prices are per person and include VAT.
