World Heritage Grimeton AB conducts visitor activities and provides a variety of cultural activities that aim to spread knowledge about and generate interest in the World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station. A cultural heritage that many find difficult becomes more understandable through the provision of a wide range of cultural offerings. The pandemic has not only limited the scope of the offerings but also their execution and quality, which has halted the positive development that was visible in the years before the pandemic.
The project aims to once again strengthen the World Heritage site as a unique cultural actor through a restart. In its entirety, it means forming a concept for the World Heritage Grimeton’s visitor activities, from a quality experience that creates understanding of the site to meeting the national vision of being exemplary in sustainability work as a World Heritage site. The visitor center is the first thing World Heritage visitors encounter. Therefore, the concept includes adapting the premises based on the various activities that take place there, and the café and shop become a clearer part of the overall experience. The project also develops a concept for how the existing family activities Morse Hunt and Radio Shadow can be developed and quality assured. The existing ticket system is being developed to include self-check-in, which helps make the site accessible to visitors all year round. Finally, the concept is marketed.
The project is funded by the Swedish Arts Council and runs during the period October 4, 2021 – October 4, 2022
