For nearly a hundred years, we have communicated wirelessly from Grimeton to the entire world, but never before have we broadcast from a Transmitter Hall filled with Lucia songs. For the first time, the World Heritage Grimeton is visited by the fantastic Varberg’s Lucia with attendants. These amazing young women in Varberg make it possible for the world to partake in a Swedish tradition as strong as Midsummer and crayfish parties.
On Lucia Day December 13 at 5:00 PM, they enter the Transmitter Hall to send light, song, and Christmas spirit to you and the whole world. They offer the beautiful traditional Swedish Lucia songs, but also the English Silent Night as an encore since this unique performance reaches globally thanks to the Friends of Alexander’s camera team streaming the entire performance live on the Internet.
