PIREUS & OLUF DIMITRI RÖE – GREEK MUSIC FROM IZMIR TO PIRAEUS – SUMMER TOUR 2026

Join us on a journey through the music of the Aegean Sea – from Smirneika to Rebetika.

Listen to the tribute songs for the double-stringed bouzouki and let yourself be swept away by the rhythms of dance – sweat, laughter, and tears in a community that unites people across seas and generations.
Rebetika was born in the poor quarters of Piraeus – where it comforted, defied, and promised that nothing warms better than music’s embrace when nights are cold and life is hard.
Since 2018, Rebetika has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List – a recognition of the music’s unique expression and history.

Concert duration: approximately 2 hours
Location: World Heritage Visitor Center

The instrumentation in Piraeus Rebetika consists of bouzouki, baglama, guitar, and lighter percussion, while the instrumentation in Smirna Rebetika consists of violin, Arabic oud, tzouras, and slightly heavier percussion.
