Work with Us

If you are interested in working or getting involved in the various activities of the Grimeton Radio Station World Heritage Site, there are different paths to take. At this site, we work with three different branches of activity. All three are equally important and in symbiosis with each other to make it possible to preserve our shared heritage. The areas and tasks are often intertwined, so working here requires commitment and understanding of different perspectives.

Management of the unique values of the world heritage, such as preventive work, care and maintenance, coordination with various stakeholders, and other measures often carried out in the long term. For example, ensuring competence in the various areas of the operation but also promoting knowledge and interest in radio and the site in our society.

Radio operations, where we provide and adapt services in wireless communication to meet customer needs. So even though the radio station may initially appear to be a museum, the facility has never gone silent on the airwaves and continues to develop its services to be a modern provider of communication services.

Public activities with tours, activities, a café, and various events that help create engagement, understanding, and interest in this unique place as well as all our world heritage sites.

We are a small organization with only a few employees, but where everyone has many strings to their bow of skills. Here we have a CEO, an operations coordinator and assistant, as well as two operations managers, one for the technical and one for the public operations, who also supervise our caretaker and our visitor hosts and various guides.

We also have the help of an external communicator and many other actors in the local area who assist with all conceivable, and sometimes even inconceivable skills, not to mention all the volunteer members of the friends association.

The Alexander Friends Association consists of a large number of people who dedicate their time to preserving our unique long-wave transmitter SAQ. They hold courses, document its technology, and are a great resource of knowledge in managing the world heritage.

They also lead some of our tours, Technical Shift, and conduct transmitter starts. A couple of times a year, they also send Morse messages out to the whole world.
