At Grimeton Radio Station, we have been making things ourselves for almost 100 years. We’ve made our own tools, we’ve repaired and taken care of. And that’s why we’re delighted to offer you the chance to create a luxurious party bag from scratch for the Great Grimeton Party anniversary celebrations. Whether you’re a beginner or have a little more experience, you’ll receive personalized guidance throughout the process. You will sketch, plan and sew your unique outfit with the help of the course leader. Folkuniversitetet is offering sewing courses in connection with Grimeton Radio Station celebrating 100 years in 2025. Part of this grand celebration is the glittering 20th century party at Societén in Varberg. Whether you’re going to the party or not, this is your big chance to design a really fancy 20’s outfit. This is what you can expect
The course starts with an inspiring planning evening where you get to sketch your 20s outfit and go through what needs to be purchased. Then you have a whole weekend, Saturday and Sunday, where you adapt patterns, sew and create. During the course, you will receive both joint briefings and individual guidance according to your own needs and wishes. Do you need help adapting patterns or tips on how to transform your old garments? Karin is there to guide you all the way! Let your creativity flow and get ready for the glamor of the 20s!

What you need to bring
The courses start with an inspiring planning evening where you get to sketch your 20s outfit and go through what needs to be purchased. You then make sure to buy this and bring it with you to the course weekend. You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine but there are also sewing machines on site. If you want your own equipment, you are welcome to bring it with you, such as scissors, skewers (because who does not sew wrong sometimes), tape measure, etc. All this is also available to borrow on site. About the leader
The course is led by the experienced tailor Karin Lundkvist. She is trained at the Tillskärarakademin with pattern construction as her main subject. Karin has run her own business, Tailoring Karin Lundkvistsince 1993 and has a passion for both sewing and creative design.
