The Alexander Association is currently preparing for the much-anticipated Alexanderson Day. After the pandemic restrictions of the past two years, we are thrilled to welcome all visitors again on Sunday, July 3, 2022, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station and the association’s members offer many activities throughout the day for the whole family. There will be two transmitter starts with the unique SAQ transmitter. However, no transmission over the antenna can be made this year due to difficulties in obtaining components for the ongoing maintenance work. Both transmitter starts will be live-streamed via the World Heritage’s YouTube channel. Additionally, the association’s skilled operators will provide a more detailed presentation of the Alexanderson alternator at each transmitter start.
Here is the program, subject to change (Times in CEST):
10:10 Start live broadcast. 10:30 Alternator startup. 11:00 Telegraphing of a message.
11:15 Guided antenna walk (Swedish)
11:45 Lecture in the transmitter hall about the construction of a large radio station (Swedish)
