Crash course in Solo Charleston in the Transmitter Hall

Before the Great Grimeton Party, Jenny Ammilon gives many dance classes through Vuxenskolan i Varberg, and this Sunday evening it is in the Sändarsalen at Grimeton Radio Station that you swing away in the most famous dance style of the 1920s. Solo Charleston is a playful dance with a very personal expression, which is quick to learn. Together with Jenny Ammilon we will find the feeling of the Charleston dance, basic steps and variations on this step.

We improvise with a base in basic Charleston and spice it up with typical moves such as “shine your shoes” and “knock-knees”.

For whom? You do not need to have taken a lindy hop course or have any other prior knowledge to join the solo Charleston workshop. We dance without a partner in this workshop.

Upholstery? Come as you are – or add some glam with a headband, a hat, a long necklace or even evening gloves. NOTE! Choose shoes with leather or plastic soles that glide smoothly on the floor (not jogging shoes), but not black soles that leave marks on the floor. About the course leader Jenny Ammilon who leads the courses is appreciated for her clear pedagogy, joy of dance and ability to help individual participants at each level. She has danced Lindy hop and other swing dances for many years and taught in West Coast Jitterbugs in Gothenburg.
