Easypark, the Swedish-founded global parking tech company, is taking on a unique mission: to help potential alien life forms land on Earth. For more than 20 years, Easypark has been building innovative solutions that are used daily by millions of road users worldwide. Easypark is now asking an intriguing question: “With all the UFO sightings every year, why haven’t we made contact yet? Could it be that the aliens simply haven’t found a parking lot?”. The company is therefore launching its parking app into space in the hope of a response.
Easypark, with the help of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Grimeton Radio Station near Varberg in Halland County, has launched its app into space. Easypark has led the way for many of the world’s cities to transition from traditional parking systems to modern and convenient mobile solutions with the vision of making cities more vibrant. Easypark has now set its sights on the sky with the ambition to make not only cities, but also the earth, more vibrant.
– At EasyPark Group we are driven by innovation and challenges, we want to illustrate our innovative work in a bold and mindful way. What started as a fun idea ended up with two challenging questions: can we send our app into space and can it help make our cities, even the Earth, more vibrant? A challenge we wanted to explore,” says Cameron Clayton, CEO of EasyPark Group.
With this initiative, Easypark joins missions around the world searching for life in the universe. At the same time, Easypark becomes the first parking tech company in history to make its app available in space. To launch the app into space, Easypark has enlisted the help of one of Sweden’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Grimeton Radio Station. Grimeton has converted the app code into a radio signal. The signal was then sent into space via one of Grimeton’s radio antennas. The app is currently traveling through the universe at the speed of light.
– We help Easypark to enable its initiative through our facility and our years of experience in wireless communication. Using radio technology, we have launched the app into space. “Radio is still very much in use and it is exciting that radio continues to contribute to innovation in the field of technology and opens up new opportunities,” says Camilla Lugnet, CEO of The World Heritage of Grimeton.
