Accessibility

We want Grimeton Radio Station to be a place for everyone. For many years, it was closed to the public, but times change, and much has happened. Today, we are working to make it possible for everyone to visit us, both by creating exciting activities and by making the environment accessible.

Buildings

All visitor buildings are equipped with automatic door openers.

Pathways

Smooth flagstones connect buildings within the visitor area. The path leading to the first antenna tower has a paved surface, allowing access for wheelchairs, walkers, or strollers.

Parking

Adjacent to the visitor center, there is a parking area for cars. The surface is gravel. Two spaces in the car park are designated for people with disabilities. Next to the car park, there are two spaces designated for buses.

Grilling

It is not permitted to grill or light fires in any other way within the World Heritage site. An electric grill is available next to the visitor center and requires a ticket.

WC/baby changing

Inside the visitor center, there are three restrooms, one of which has a changing table and space for a wheelchair. Inside the radio station, there is a restroom with space for a wheelchair.

Listening aids

Speaker vests are used by the guides during the tours.

Visual impairment

The guided tour is adapted to include sections with physical objects. Several of the guides have completed an introductory course on conducting tours for visitors with visual impairments.

Fire alarm

Available in all premises. A meeting point is marked on the area.

Assistance dogs (service animals)

Guide dogs/service dogs are permitted in all premises.

Packed food

It is not permitted to consume packed food at the furniture inside or outside the Visitor Center.
