Christmas concert Karin Dahlberg & Catharina Löfqvist

In the most beautiful Advent season, in anticipation of Christmas, Karin and Catharina want to offer you classic and newer Christmas songs in varied sounds. Christmas and its atmospheric songs are close to both their hearts.

Karin and Catharina got to know each other at the music program at Helsjön Folk High School and then followed each other at the Music Academy in Gothenburg. Since then they have made music together in many different contexts and constellations with everything from classical music, show, musical, jazz to contemporary music. Karin works professionally as a singer in the classical genre both in Sweden and abroad. In 2023, Karin was awarded Varberg Municipality’s Plaque of Honor in culture. Catharina works as principal at Katrineberg Folk High School and writes and produces music. They both live in Varberg. Julefrid contains a wintry musical palette with songs such as Nordqvist’s Jul, jul, strålande jul, Ave Maria by Schubert, Härlig är jorden, A child is born and Himlen i min famn performed with vocals, piano, guitar, saxophone and recorder.
The concert is about 60 minutes. Julefrid is given at 15.00 and 18.00. After the first concert and before the second, you can buy Christmas coffee in the World Heritage’s orange galley and Christmas mingle outside the Sändarsalen. With your ticket you help to preserve the World Heritage Site for the future.
