“My Grimeton” – Share your Stories and Bring your Photos on December 15

Was your grandfather here in the 1920s building the radio station? Or at the Yngeredsfors power station that supplied the electricity needed to send longwave telegrams to Long Island, NY? Did your mother work at the telegraph station in Gothenburg? Was it your old neighbor who ensured the telegrams could be received at the station in Kungsbacka? Did you perhaps do your internship as a student here at the radio station during the period 1950-1980? Were you the one who raked the paths to keep everything neat and tidy? Or were Grimeton’s telegram connections your link to loved ones in other parts of the world? Or was this where your mom and dad fell head over heels in love and your story begins?

We are eager to hear even more stories! So bring us PHOTOS, RECEIPTS, TELEGRAMS, NEWSPAPER ARTICLES, LOVE LETTERS, PORTRAITS… Or delightful or fantastic stories you carry and that should be told. YOU ARE WELCOME to our Visitor Center on December 15, 2022, between 2 PM and 6 PM.

World heritage sites belong to all of us, and “your Grimeton” is part of “our Grimeton”. Therefore, we welcome you to share your stories, big or small, connected to the place. The collection is part of our destination development project. PLEASE REGISTER so we know how many to expect. Either click ATTENDING in the Facebook event, or email us at kommunikation@grimeton.org as soon as possible! We offer mulled wine – it is December after all! If you cannot participate on December 15, you are welcome to send in your contribution.

Welcome!!
