Christmas Peace – A Christmas Concert
Celebrate the second Advent at Grimeton World Heritage Site with music, food, and Christmas spirit.
On Sunday, December 6, Karin Dahlberg and Catharina Löfqvist return to Grimeton with Christmas Peace – an Advent concert featuring classical and newer Christmas songs in various styles.
The music of Christmas is dear to both of them, and the concert will feature a blend of well-known works and new additions. The program includes Schubert’s Ave Maria, O Holy Night, music from Karl-Bertil Jonsson’s Christmas Eve, and a newly composed Christmas song by Catharina Löfqvist. The music will be performed with vocals, piano, guitar, saxophone, and recorder.
Karin and Catharina met on the music program at Helsjöns folkhögskola and then continued their studies together at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg. Since then, they have performed together in many different contexts – from classical music, folk songs, and musicals to jazz and contemporary music. Karin Dahlberg works professionally as a singer and has performed on several European stages, including the Berliner Philharmonie, where she will return as a soloist in spring 2027. In 2023, she was awarded the Varberg Municipality’s honorary plaque for culture. Catharina Löfqvist is the principal of Katrinebergs folkhögskola and also works with writing and producing music. Both reside in Varberg.
Feel free to make the concert a full afternoon at the World Heritage Site. The Dining Hall opens at 12:00 PM and remains open throughout the afternoon with food and other edibles. Between concerts, there will be an opportunity to discover more of the World Heritage Site, and at 4:15 PM, we offer a guided tour. The exhibitions and parts of the radio station will also be accessible during the afternoon.
Christmas Peace will be performed twice during the afternoon.
Concert 1 at 3:00 PM (admission from 2:45 PM)
Concert 2 at 5:30 PM (admission 5:15 PM).
Price: SEK 250/person. Tickets are purchased for each respective concert time.
