Our guides show the way

Have the World Heritage Site to yourself by booking a private tour. Under the current public health guidelines, we are able to open the site for smaller groups. The visits are planned carefully to reduce the number of people on site and minimise risks so that our visitors can feel secure in this unique environment. Guided introduction Join a 20 minutes long guided introduction outdoors, and learn more about Grimeton Radio Station and how it came to take its place as a listed UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004. The introduction is included in the entrance fee but need to be prebooked on our webpage.
Prebooked tour During the guided tour you get to learn more about our history and what’s happening at the radio station today, and to understand why it is part of our shared World Heritage. The guided tour takes approximately 40 minutes and are booked in the form below.
Technical guided tours and transmitter start ups For those who wish to immerse themselves in the Alexanderson transmitter and its unique technology, technical guided tours and transmitter start ups are offered. The technical guided tour takes approximately 60 minutes and focuses on the technology behind the longwave transmitter in Grimeton. The transmitter start up is performed by the operators that guides you through the various steps needed to start the machinery.  Technical guided tours and transmitter start ups are booked in the form below.

There are many stories about Grimeton Radio station. The 10 minutes long video gives you a taste of these stories. Would you like to know more you should join one of our guided tours. 
 
Private tours for groups
You can pre-book all of our guided tours outside opening hours. Due to the current public health guidelines we have changed the maximum and minimum amount of participants on the tours. The maximum amount of participants is therefor set to 8 and the minimum amount to 5. Buy tickets in the calendar or fill out the form below and we will get back to you shortly. Prebookings can only be made outside our regular opening hours and if you book a tour on evenings or weekends an extra guide fee of 1800 SEK is charged per group.
